Cedar Valley Hospice (CVH) is the area’s leader in end-of-life care and has been serving our community since 1979. CVH provides physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice services are available to people of all ages who are suffering from any life-limiting illness. 

Cedar Valley Hospice serves Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Grundy, parts of Fayette, Tama, and surrounding counties with these programs of service:

Hospice Services

• Patients are able to stay in the comfort of their own homes, with pain under control and surrounded by loved ones. Emphasis is placed on maintaining quality of life and personal dignity while supporting the entire family before, during, and after the death of the loved one.

Grief Support Services

• Cedar Valley Hospice Grief Support Services provide comprehensive counseling, support services and educational leadership on dying, death and grief to the community.

The Eucalyptus Tree

• The Eucalyptus Tree exists to provide support and care for children and families experiencing life-threatening illness or grieving a death.

CASS - Cedar AIDS Support System

• The Cedar AIDS Support System provides medical case management and care from diagnosis through bereavement for persons living with HIV/AIDS, their significant others, families and friends.

LINK Palliative Care Program

• LINK is a palliative care program that has been developed to provide supportive end-of-life care to those individuals and families not enrolled on the Hospice program.
