Release & Remember

 Celebrate someone you love at the Cedar Valley Hospice Release & Remember fundraiser on Sunday, September 9. Join family, friends, volunteers and staff of Cedar Valley Hospice for this popular event that brings hundreds of community supporters to the banks of the Cedar River for an afternoon that has become tradition of celebrating loved ones in an extraordinary way. 

A short program and the release of 1,000 monarch butterflies will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the RiverLoop Amphitheatre in downtown Waterloo. Food (while supplies last), family fun and music begin at 1 p.m.

We invite you to be a part of the meaningful day by dedication one or a number of butterflies as a tribute to someone you love. For each memorial or honorary donation of $25, a butterfly will be released. To dedicate, click on the "Donate Now" button. You can also dedicate a butterfly at our Dedication Day on Saturday, August 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hy-Vee Crossroads in Waterloo. Tribute names will be displayed at theevent if the donation is received by August 27. Those donation will also receive a keepsake certificate to personalize and keep as a reminder of the day. 

T-Shirt commemorating this year's event are also for sale for $10 at the event, but are sure to sell out quickly. Purchase yours ahead of time by visiting the Cedar Valley Hospice Waterloo office on the fourth floor of the Kimball Ridge Center building at 2101 Kimball Ave. or during our Dedication Day. Wheelchair ushers will be on hand at the handicap accessible entrance to the amphitheatre near the Phelps Youth Pavilion where handicap parking is also available. Assistance will also be provided via golf cart shuttle service throughout the event area as well.
