Release & Remember

Don't miss the opportunity to celebrate someone you love at the Cedar Valley Hospice Release & Remember event on Sunday, September 10! Join staff, volunteers, families and friends of Cedar Valley Hospice for this popular event that brings hundreds of community supporters to the banks of the Cedar River for an afternoon that has become a tradition of celebrating loved ones in a special and unique way.

A program and the release of 1000 monarch butterflies will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the RiverLoop Amphitheatre in downtown Waterloo. Family friendly activities, music and a picnic lunch begin at 1 p.m. and are available while supplies last. Wheelchair ushers will be on hand at the accessible entrance to the amphitheatre by the Phelps Youth Pavilion.

T-shirts commemorating this year’s event will be available for sale mid-July and also at the event, but are sure to go quickly.  Make sure and purchase yours while supplies last by visiting or contacting the Cedar Valley Hospice Waterloo office on the fourth floor of the Kimball Ridge building.  Watch our Facebook page for the announcement of a special Dedication Day prior to the event where you can support a butterfly and conveniently purchase t-shirts.

The Release & Remember event is an opportunity to remember and celebrate those we love in an extraordinary way. For each memorial or honorary gift of $25, a butterfly will be released. Those donating will in turn receive a keepsake certificate to personalize and keep as a reminder of the day.

We invite you to be a part of this meaningful celebration and remembrance by supporting one or a number of butterflies as a tribute to someone you love.  To do so, click on the "Dedicate a Butterfly" button below to complete and return the registration form. You may also contact your local Cedar Valley Hospice office for more information or call 800.617.1972.

Deadline to Dedicate a Butterfly and have tribute's name appear on board at the event is Aug. 28.

We look forward to seeing you on September 10! Click here to see photos from last year's event!
