Release & Remember honors our community's loved ones

Celebrate someone you love at the Cedar Valley Hospice Release & Remember fundraiser on Sunday, September 8. Join us for this popular event that brings hundreds of community supporters to the banks of the Cedar River for an afternoon that has become a tradition of celebrating loved ones in an extraordinary way.

A short program and the release of 1,000 monarch butterflies will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the RiverLoop Amphitheatre in downtown Waterloo. Food (while supplies last), family fun and music by Milk and Honey all begin at 1 p.m.

We invite you to be a part of this meaningful day by dedicating one or a number of butterflies as a tribute to someone you love. For $25 donation, a butterfly will be released. To dedicate a butterfly, click on the "Dedicate a Butterfly" button below. Tribute names will be displayed at the event if the donation is received by August 26.

Lime colored event T-shirts will be available at the event for $15 but are sure to sell out quickly with a special 40th logo addition commemorating Cedar Valley Hospice’s anniversary. Purchase yours ahead of time (after mid-July) by visiting our Waterloo office on the fourth floor of the Kimball Ridge Center building at 2101 Kimball Ave.

Wheelchair ushers will be on hand at the handicap accessible entrance near the Phelps Youth Pavilion where handicap parking is available. A golf cart shuttle service will also offer assistance throughout the event area.
