Christmas was certainly one of Dad’s favorite holidays. As a kid I remember him stringing up lights in the feed shed and wrapping presents in the Sunday comics tied up with twine. He had such a beautiful singing voice, I still listen for him when I hear Christmas music.
He enjoyed the spirit of giving, and not just at Christmas. Sometimes he enlisted us kids or mom to help him create a surprise for an unsuspecting benefactor to brighten their holiday season.
