Volunteer

Cedar Valley Hospice volunteers are an essential part of the care team. They are available to sit and spend time with patients allowing the caregiver to run errands, go to an appointment, or meet a friend for lunch.

Physician

Our hospice physician leads the team in developing a plan of care to meet each patient’s specific needs, provides consultation to physicians regarding hospice care, and certifies terminal prognosis as part of the hospice eligibility process.

Nurse

Our highly trained, professional nurses are experts at providing compassionate care and skilled at managing a patient’s pain and symptoms. They also provide comfort to families by teaching them how to provide the best care for their loved one.

Therapist

Complimentary therapies, such as music and massage, can also be made available as a part of the plan of care to alleviate symptoms of pain, anxiety and to promote comfort for the patient.

Spiritual Care
Counselor

It’s common for people to seek spiritual guidance for comfort at the end-of-life. Our spiritual professionals are available to meet you where you are and provide support to patients/families during this difficult time.

Social Worker

Our Social Workers play a vital role providing care for patients needing care at home. They work closely with the other members of the clinical team providing education and assisting with resources for medical or psychosocial needs.

Home Health Aide

Hospice aides provide personal care assistance for patient needs including bathing, grooming and linen changes, as well as providing respite for caregivers.

Grief Counselor

Adult and youth grief counselors are available to support families of our patients and the entire community at no cost. We provide individual meetings, support groups, information and referrals for additional community resources as needed to families and caregivers.
